The Bay Area Air Quality Management District would like to thank the Bay Area employers, and each individual racer, who participated in the Great Race for Clean Air. The District commends all participants for trying a cleaner, greener alternative to commuting alone in September and October.
Sponsored by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District and 511, the Great Race for Clean Air was a friendly competition between Bay Area employers to encourage their employees' use of commute alternatives such as transit, carpooling, vanpooling, walking and bicycling rather than driving solo to work. Together, participants saved over 435 tons of CO2 by using alternatives to solo driving to work!
