San Francisco-San Mateo Air Quality Resource Team

The San Francisco-San Mateo Air Quality Resource Team is organizing community support for a car free tourism website for out-of-state and regional visitors to San Francisco. Many visitors to San Francisco choose to drive, when abundant public transportation options currently exist – options that could save visitors both time and money. The team’s car free project hopes to take current information on transit options in the City and make the information more accessible and user-friendly.

In 2005, the first Great Race for Clean Air successfully engaged residents from throughout the Bay Area to use four modes of alternative transportation in four weeks. Teams from around the Bay raced to Pleasanton on October 6, 2005 to highlight creative and timely use of the multi-modal transit options that exist around the Bay. See the 2005 Team San Francisco!

If you would like to help with the car free project please contact Jim Smith at (415) 749-4631.
