Santa Clara County Air Quality Resource Team

The Santa Clara County Air Quality Resource Team is working to help employers develop commute solutions programs. These programs provide alternatives to solo driving, significantly reducing air pollution generated by commuting. The team offers free workshops on commute solutions to employers interested in establishing or enhancing a commute program.
Since 2007 the team has provided incentives for employers to start new vanpools – free wifi on the vans for three months, plus a wifi router for continued use on the vans! The team is pleased to offer this incentive again in 2009.
In 2005 the team established the Committee to Reduce Traffic Congestion Along Escuela Parkway to develop solutions to reduce traffic congestion around schools in Milpitas. The team did traffic evaluations at three schools in Milpitas and developed recommendations on how these schools could reduce congestion and increase safety at each school site. The team is currently working in collaboration with Breathe California to further develop a trip-reduction plan for the schools along Escuela Parkway in Milpitas.
In addition, the team is supporting 2009 Bike to Work Day energizer stations in San Jose, Santa Clara and Milpitas.
