Santa Clara County Air Quality Resource Team

The Santa Clara County Air Quality Resource Team is working to reduce traffic congestion around schools in Milpitas and Sunnyvale. In 2005 the team did traffic evaluations at four schools (one in Sunnyvale and three in Milpitas) and developed recommendations on how these schools could reduce congestion and increase safety at each school site.

The team is now working with schools to implement some of the recommendations contained in the evaluations.

In 2005, the first Great Race for Clean Air successfully engaged residents from throughout the Bay Area to use four modes of alternative transportation in four weeks. Teams from around the Bay raced to Pleasanton on October 6, 2005 to highlight creative and timely use of the multi-modal transit options that exist around the Bay. See the 2005 Team
