2009 Greenhouse Gas Reduction Grant Program (GGRGP)

This program provided funding for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in non-residential public, government buildings located in Rodeo, Crockett, Hercules, and Pinole. The program is not currently accepting new applications.

Reporting

Reporting to the Air District is required for projects that are currently being implemented. For specific reporting instructions and due dates, project sponsors should review Section II.7 and Attachment A of the Funding Agreement. Reqiured report forms are listed to the right.

Background

Funding for the GGRGP was provided from a Carbon Offset Fund created by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (Air District) with funds from a Settlement Agreement (Agreement) between the Attorney General (AG) of California and ConocoPhillips Company.

The Agreement was to resolve a dispute regarding the environmental impact of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions primarily carbon dioxide) from the Clean Fuels Expansion Project at the ConocoPhillips refinery in Rodeo, California. The Agreement required that projects achieve verifiable, quantifiable reductions in GHG emissions, with priority given to projects nearest to the ConocoPhillips Rodeo refinery.
