Conservation Tip

Individual behavior must be changed if we are to succeed because the majority of Bay Area air contaminants come from activities that involve individuals, like driving motor vehicles and using consumer products and gasoline powered lawn and garden equipment.   While there is still work to be done to reduce industrial and commercial emissions to even lower levels, individual consumers must change their behavior if we are to make substantial reductions.

Sonoma County

Sonoma Resource Team

The Sonoma Air Quality Resource Team and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District are supporting efforts to reduce traffic congestion at schools. Through grants to the Sonoma County Climate Protection Campaign in 2006 and 2007, the Air Quality Resource Team supported student campaigns at Analy and Windsor High Schools to reduce solo driving and the resulting greenhouse gas emissions. Those efforts continue to expand to new schools.
