Other Funding Programs

The California Air Resources Board has developed a comprehensive listing of funding and incentives that are available to PEV drivers. These listings include links to federal tax credits and California’s Clean Vehicle Rebate Project to help reduce the cost of buying PEVs, links to the California Clean Air Vehicle Decals - High Occupancy Vehicle Lane Usage that allows qualifying single-occupant PEV drivers free use of the carpool or High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes, information about incentives offered by utilities to reduce the cost of charging at home during off-peak hours, and more.

  • Drive Clean: Find rebates, discounts, tax breaks and other incentives available in your area for clean technology vehicles.
  • California Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP): A program to help speed the introduction of clean, low-carbon hybrid and electric trucks and buses by providing vouchers to help offset about half of the incremental cost for qualified vehicles.
  • California Energy Commission:  Find upcoming and current solicitations from the Energy Commission's Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program’s (ARFVTP) for grant funds for electric vehicle and alternative fuels-related projects.
