Recognizing Participating Employers

Employers electing to participate in Spare the Air are the backbone of the program. More than 2,000 businesses and government agencies have signed on to notify their employees when a Spare the Air alert is called. Is your organization among them? View a list of all participating organizations.

Best Workplaces for Commuters
Spare the Air has joined the Environmental Protection Agency in promoting the Best Workplaces for Commuters Program. This business/government partnership assists participating Best Workplaces for Commuters employers by offering technical assistance, public recognition and promotion, training, Web-based tools, and forums for information exchange.

Best Workplaces stipulates distinct participation levels, minimum subsidies for transit or vanpool riders, participation in Guaranteed/Emergency Ride Home, and reporting requirements. To participate in the program, employers sign a voluntary Agreement with EPA and DOT. There you will also find an online enrollment form, initiative overview, and a myriad of information about the program.

Spare the Air is proud to work with the EPA in recognizing employers who are making their's Best Workplaces for Commuters.
