The Tri-Valley Resource Team has developed an informative Commuter Choice Tax Benefits document. This four-page PDF file explains what commuter tax benefits are, how employers can implement commuter choice programs, offers mentoring contacts, and contains contact information for a variety of vendors and agencies involved in helping employers to get commuter choice programs started at their worksites. Learn how you can help your employees Spare the Air by getting out of their cars and onto transit or into vanpooling. Guaranteed/Emergency Ride Home Information Guaranteed ride home provides employees who commute via transit, carpool or vanpool with transportation home in the event of a personal emergency. The EPA has created a Guaranteed/Emergency Ride Home Briefing Paper (PDF) to provide employers with more information on the subject. Commuter Resource Guide The Southern Alameda County Air Quality Resource Team produced the Alameda County Commuter Resource Guide (PDF) for residents of Alameda County. The guide is intended as a tool for employers to inform their employees about commute alternatives in Alameda County. The online guide features useful information and helpful "hot" links. Print copies of the Commuter Resource Guide are also being distributed to members of the Hayward Chamber of Commerce. If you want print copies of the Commuter Resource Guide, please contact Jim Smith at Community Focus, (415) 975-2955 x7.
