 Kaila's Summer Hang Out at Camp S.O.A.R.
In summer, Kaila gets to hang out with some kids at Camp S.O.A.R., a week-long summer day camp for kids with all levels of asthma.
At Camp S.O.A.R. Kaila helps the kids learn about air pollution and the environmental triggers that can bring on an asthma attack. Kaila knows a lot about this stuff because her little brother Jeffrey has asthma. Kaila brought along some of her comic books and activities for the campers, too, and everyone learned a lot and had a great time.
 Kaila and her friends from the Air District can come visit your classroom, school or community fair or club to talk to kids, teachers and parents about air pollution and what we can all do to make the air cleaner. Here's Kaila and some friends from the Air District at the Oakland Zoo's Earth Day Event. Every year in the month of April, Earth Day events are held all over the Bay Area, celebrating the Earth and teaching us about how to care for the environment.
