There are various ways Bay Area residents can find out when Spare the Air Alerts are in effect, from EnviroFlash AirAlerts and the Air District's PhoneAlert system to the 1-800-HELP AIR and 1-877-4NO-BURN phone lines.
There are a number of ways Bay Area residents can find out when summer and winter Spare the Air Alerts are in effect.
Spare the Air Alerts will be covered in local newspapers, radio, TV, and other media, and advisories will be posted on the www.baaqmd.gov and www.sparetheair.org websites.
Residents can sign up for e-mail AirAlerts on the U.S. EPA’s EnviroFlash system. Join the nearly 100, 000 Bay Area subscribers.
Residents can sign up to receive automated PhoneAlert notification telephone calls by calling 1-800-430-1515.
The Air District’s 1-877-4NO-BURN (466-2876) and 1-800-HELP AIR (435-7247) numbers will notify callers when summer and winter Spare the Air Alerts are issued.
Residents can also download a Spare the Air widget for their website, which will notify them when Spare the Air Alerts are in effect.
