Smoke from the Pacific Northwest wildfires is expected to impact air quality in the Bay Area on Tuesday and Wednesday. Residents in affected areas should stay alert to news coverage and health warnings related to smoke. Check air quality at fire.airnow.gov and take steps to protect your health from smoke. Learn how at www.baaqmd.gov/wildfiresafety. Pollution levels are not expected to exceed the national 24-hour health standard. A Spare the Air Alert is not in effect.
Harsheet Subedi
Harsheet Subedi grew up in the Bay Area after moving from Nepal and is a first-generation college student. He is currently in his first year at Berkeley City College with plans to transfer to a four-year university. Harsheet serves as an Infrastructure Intern in the Office of Berkeley Mayor Adena Ishii, where he supports policy research on city infrastructure and community needs. His regional experience also includes environmental justice work with the Asian Pacific Environmental Network and assisting with science and policy related projects at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Through these roles, Harsheet has developed a strong commitment to advancing equitable and community-driven environmental and public health outcomes throughout the Bay Area.
