The Great Race for Clean Air: Winners

2015 Great Race for Clean Air

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District would like to thank all of the Bay Area employers - and each individual racer - who participated in the Great Race for Clean Air. The District commends all participants for trying a cleaner, greener alternative to commuting alone in September and October of 2015.

Sponsored by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District in partnership with 511 Rideshare, 511 Contra Costa, Commute.org, San Francisco Department of the Environment and Solano-Napa Commuter Information, the Great Race for Clean Air is a friendly competition between Bay Area employers to encourage their employees' use of commute alternatives such as transit, carpooling, vanpooling, walking, and bicycling rather than driving alone to work.

During September and October, 526 employees from 47 companies logged their daily air-friendly commutes. Approximately 325,788 lbs. of CO2 were saved by employees choosing not to drive to work alone.
