Advisory

An Advisory is Posted
Air Quality Advisories are posted when air quality might affect susceptible populations and pollutants are not expected to exceed federal health-based standards.

Example of an Air Quality Advisory
Wildfire smoke from adjacent regions (such as southern California or Oregon) drifts into parts of the Bay Area, affecting air quality.

Spare the Air Alert
When air quality conditions are expected to cause pollution levels exceeding federal air quality standards, a Spare the Air Alert or Winter Spare the Air Alert is called.
