Smoke from the Pacific Northwest wildfires is expected to impact air quality in the Bay Area on Tuesday and Wednesday. Residents in affected areas should stay alert to news coverage and health warnings related to smoke. Check air quality at fire.airnow.gov and take steps to protect your health from smoke. Learn how at www.baaqmd.gov/wildfiresafety. Pollution levels are not expected to exceed the national 24-hour health standard. A Spare the Air Alert is not in effect.

Learn about the Priority Climate Action Plan, phase one of the Bay Area Regional Climate Action Planning Initiative.
The first phase of this planning effort is a Priority Climate Action Plan, comprised of GHG reduction measures, supporting analyses, and a GHG inventory for high-priority sectors. The PCAP focuses on two priority sectors: passenger vehicles and residential buildings. The development of the PCAP took place from April 2023 to February 2024. More information on the measures, development process, and engagement efforts can be found in the plan document.

The Advisory Working Group, Roundtable members, and other stakeholders participated in a series of sessions with the aim of solidifying and finalizing the PCAP measures.
